Meteor Water Dragon - Pattern Welded Meteorite Steel, differentially hardened

The irregular ripple pattern in this stunning tachi comes from forging out the impurities of meteorite iron.  Differential hardening gives the blade a natural hamon.

The saya is a custom gold-lacquered rayskin, and the brass fittings are based on Suiryuken, a Tang style Dao in the Japanese National Museum.
